Peripheral Neuropathy often begins with numbness, prickling or tingling in the toes or fingers. It may spread up to the feet or hands and cause sensations of burning, freezing, throbbing and/or shooting pain that tends to be more intense at night. The symptoms may either be periodic or constant. Typically the pain is felt equally on both sides of the body such as in both feet or in both hands. Some types of Peripheral Neuropathy develop rapidly, other types may progress gradually over many years.
